​GRADING REQUIREMENTS FOR YELLOW BELT


1) General understanding of the Basic Techniques:
STRIKES
Stomach level punch
Head level punch
Forward back-fist
Side back-fist
Short punch
Rising elbow strike
Round elbow strike
  

BLOCKS
Rising head level block
Inside hooking block
Outside hooking block
Downward block
Sweeping block

STANCES
Parallel stance
Long forward stance
Horse-riding stance
Sumo stance

KICKS
Front kick
Round kick
Side kick
Back kick
2) Kata:
First Kata by numbers (see videos)

3) Combinations:
Ability to quickly learn a new sequence of basic techniques.

4) Fitness:
10 Push ups, 10 squats, 10 squat-thrusts, 10 leg raises, plank / sumo stance for 30 seconds. Ability to repeat the exercise after a short rest.

5) Attitude: 
100% effort. Focused and determined attituded (no talking during the grading). Loud responses & quick reactions.

6) Attendance:
16 weekly classes are required to gain a general understanding of all basic techniques, learn 1st kata, and raise fitness to appropriate level.
