​General Terms
DOJO (doh-joh) - School or training location

SHIHAN (shee-hahn) - Chief Instructor

SENSEI (sen-say) - Teacher or Instructor

SEMPAI (sem-pie) - Assistant Teacher or Instructor

SEIZA (say-zah) - Formal Sitting

MOKUSO (mok-soh) - Close your eyes

MOKUSO YAME (mok-soh ya-may) - Open your eyes

OTAGAI NI (oh-tah-gah-ee nee) - Towards everybody

REI (ray) - Bow

HAI (high) - Yes! Respond with "Hai" immediately when you are called or asked by your Sensei or Sempai, or when you understand an instruction.

YOI (yoy) - Ready/attention – standing in parallel stance

KIAI (key-eye) - Shout of spirit

KIME (key-may) - Focus of power, ready / take position
